Sprague Lake in Fall - Rocky Mountain National Park
Sprague Lake in Fall - Rocky Mountain National Park
Wayne Rhodus
After sixteen consecutive years of visiting Rocky Mountain National Park in late fall, my wife and I were fortunate enough to introduce our first grandson, Caden to the beauty of the mountains. At nine months old he enjoyed his inagural hike on the handicapped accessible trail around Sprague Lake, in a carrier on his father's back. I stopped momentarily on the eastern side of the lake to take this picture of fluffy white clouds, Hallet Peak and Tyndell Glacier relfected in the calm waters in the late morning light. Our Public Lands are perfect for making memories for a lifetime.

Excellent depth, exposure is right on. Excellent use of elements which draw the viewer into the image and gives the feeling of being there. FIRST PLACE!
